Southend City Jam

I don’t know how we’ve missed this in previous years. It was featured on the local news so thought it was worth checking out this year. I’m so glad we did, it was amazing! Over 200 street artists from around the world, painting the walls of Southend City Centre with their incredible designs and images. I absolutely loved it and will make it an annual event for us. Southend City has a train station which was perfectly situated within the catchment area of the artwork, so if you’re coming from outside Essex it makes travelling easy.

Dotted around the area are also some lovely independent cafés which appealed to me with their quirky interiors. It reminded me of being in Boho areas of London.

Whenever we go abroad I always seek out and admire the street art and now we are lucky to have this within an hour drive of home. Loved it.

I think this one was my favourite of the day. It’s scale and detail we’re amazing. So life like!

Here was another favourite and me giving it scale.

We found a few great cafés on our walk around the streets and this one was lovely inside. Very eclectic. A great milkshake (topped off with a custard cream biscuit) and nice cake. Very happy.
